Our grandson’s first birthday party is today. The menu is pizza and cake. Pizza has some nutritional value, but not so much the cake. Sure, cake has eggs in it, but you don’t get much nutritional value from them in a serving. Try scrambling three large eggs and dividing them between 12-15 people. That is a pretty small serving of eggs. Cake mostly consists of white flour and sugar. And the icing? Sugar and fat. So, I will try to avoid the temptation to down a slab of flour, sugar, and fat and play with my grandson instead. He is much sweeter, anyway.
Update: I had pizza, chips, and a cupcake. If I would have stopped there, the damage wouldn’t have been too bad. But, the little bugger took a nap, and I snacked way too much on the chips, plus had another cupcake. I felt the junk food hangover the next day.
