Day two of reduced added sugar went well. I almost slipped when I walked into a classroom and found myself in front of the candy jar, alone. Just me and Reese’s peanut butter cups. I spent about three seconds thinking about the delicious chocolate and peanut butter in my mouth, then turned around and walked out of the room. I probably miss milk chocolate the most, but candy is definitely a gateway sweet. One taste, and it would be open season on cakes, pies, pastries, cookies, etc.
I had a half serving of peanut butter Cheerios for dessert tonight. I wonder if mixing chocolate Cheerios and peanut butter Cheerios would make for a Reese’s replacement. I know the texture would not even be close, but would it have that great flavor combination?
